A Louisville-area company has made the leap to a four-day workweek as it reaches its 25th year in business, according to Louisville Business First.NCL Services, a full-service provider for the freight industry, is based in New Albany, Indiana. Kathy Leamer, its president and founder, was at a crossroads when technology had evolved to eliminate some of the need for human labor in some of the company’s operations. Instead of laying people off, she opted for a four-day workweek. The idea of a four-day workweek is part of the larger conversation of work-life balance and the Great Resignation spurred by the Covid-19 pandemic as employers fight to attract new employees and retain their existing workforces.
