EDITORS NOTE: The Herald is republishing this letter because of an editing error, which misidentified the amount of the $3.5 trillion infrastructure proposal backed by President Joe Biden and progressive Democrats, in the letter published Friday.
The often-heard statement, “Elections have consequences,” is more relevant now than ever before. In the case of the November 2020 election, the consequences have so far been disastrous.
We all know about the Biden administration’s Afghanistan fiasco, in which 13 U.S. service members were killed, many Americans stranded and more than $80 billion worth of military equipment abandoned.
This administration’s immigration policies have resulted in an ongoing illegal immigration crisis, a national security calamity and a humanitarian catastrophe, all of which are largely ignored by the corporate media. IN addition, surging inflation and lackluster job growth are among the quality of life issues plaguing the country.
Beside higher gas and food prices and anemic job growth, many Americans will feel the pain of draconian tax hikes that will accompany record government spending under the $3.5 trillion “infrastructure” bill.
All Americans must open their eyes and understand that adverse policies such as those mentioned above (and many more not included here) are badly damaging America and could even cause its demise. We must vote in fair and legal elections in 2022 and 2024 for congressional and presidential candidates who will restore America to greatness.
Elections really do have consequences — both negative and positive. The stakes will be higher than ever.
